Wicked, the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, opened on Broadway in 2003 and tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (who later changes her name to Glinda the Good Witch), including their rivalry over the same love-interest (Fiyero). With powerful songs, strong characters, and some humor thrown in, it is easy to see why it is currently the 10th longest running Broadway show.

As Long As You’re Mine is a duet between Elphaba and Fiyero who have recently found love together, and decide that they can conquer anything as long as they have each other. But their future is a rocky one and perhaps everyone just needs relax with an Emerald City themed drink! So here’s how to make a classic mojito – with a Wicked twist!

Add light rum, mint leaves, lime juice, sugar, ice and green food dye to a cocktail shaker, and shake well to mix. The food dye is obviously optional. Or actually perhaps it isn’t because otherwise the drink would just be a tasty mojito rather than a Wicked one.

Strain and pour into a glass filled with ice cubes. Top up with club soda and garnish with lime slices and fresh mint sprigs.
