We are HUGE fans of the musical Chicago – and this will be our fifth recipe that it has inspired! Check out the others: When Velma Steaks The Stand(wich), They Both Reached For The Gin, Razzle Basil, and Cell Block Mango!

Funny Honey is sung by Roxie (played by Renée Zellweger in the 2002 movie version) after she has shot her lover, Fred Casely, and got her husband to accept responsibility for it.

Sometime’s I’m right
Sometime’s I’m wrong
But he doesn’t care
He’ll string along
He loves me so
That funny honey of mine

Unfortunately, by the end of the song, her husband Amos has worked out that Roxie has tricked him, and refuses to take the blame. Roxie is sent to jail, where she can no longer enjoy fresh fruit but has to exist on a diet of gruel. Possibly.

ANYWAY. This dessert is super healthy – and we all know that’s a good thing because you never know when you’ll be called on to perform a number from Chicago dressed only in a very small piece of black lycra.

I’ve used a fruit platter of blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and grapes because I liked the red and black Chicago-theme colors, but pretty much any fruit would work with this recipe!

To make the dressing, mix together honey and lime juice, then drizzle it over the fruit. You'll love this Funny Honey (dessert) of mine! Inspired by the musical Chicago.

Garnish with chopped fresh mint leaves and serve. Perfect for a summer’s day!
