I Wanna Be A ProMousser - a chocolate mousse inspired by the musical The Producers!

I Wanna Be A Producer is, as you might have guessed, from the Mel Brooks musical The Producers.  The song appears towards the start of the show where Leo Bloom (played by Gene Wilder in the 1968 movie, and Matthew Broderick both on Broadway and in the 2006 film) is working as an accountant, and is very very unhappy… But one day he dreams of bigger and better things:

I wanna be a producer
Wear a tux on op’ning nights!
I wanna be a producer
And see my name “Leo Bloom” in lights!
Whether he also wanted to mass produce chocolate mousse is up for debate. But I’m pretty confident it would have been a step up from his book-keeping drudgery.
For my husband’s recent birthday treat, he requested chocolate mousse as a dessert: “but not the cream and cocoa powder kind, the kind made with real chocolate”. As a low-carber I’d only made the former, but a birthday wish is a birthday wish, so I turned to the internet.
I found this James Martin recipe and followed the instructions exactly. The ingredients are dark chocolate, eggs, and sugar. It was indulgent, chocolatey, and so so good. My husband was SUPER happy! Even when I used it as an excuse to create this blog post!I Wanna Be A ProMousser - a chocolate mousse inspired by the musical The Producers!
You could top it with grated chocolate, or whipped cream – but we left it plain. This light and airy mousse speaks for itself!
